11 Mar Empowering the Next Generation: VicLLENs Supporting Aviation Careers
The Victorian Local Learning and Employment Networks (VicLLENs) are proud to be partnering with AMDA Foundation Limited, organisers of Avalon 2025 to support young Victorians in exploring careers in advanced transport and defence industries.
The 31 Local Learning and Employment Networks (LLENs) are supporting schools from all corners of the state to attend the Avalon Australian International Airshow (Avalon 2025) Careers Day on Friday 28 March hosted by AMDA Foundation who champion aviation, aerospace, space, maritime and defence innovation and engagement.
Students who attend will hear from astronauts, experience flying and drone simulation, virtual reality, aircraft tours and flying displays. A valuable opportunity to learn more about the career pathways available in the industries on display while unearthing opportunities for students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Creating Opportunities for Young People
For over 20 years, VicLLENs have been dedicated to bridging the gap between education and employment by fostering partnerships with schools, training providers, businesses, and community organisations. Through our support of Avalon 2025, we are ensuring that students gain valuable industry exposure, helping them discover career opportunities and develop a deeper understanding of the aviation sector.
As part of the initiative, LLENs have worked closely with AMDA Foundation Limited and schools to arrange transport, enabling students to attend this premier event and engage directly with industry professionals. Additionally, our trade stall at the event will serve as an information hub, offering insights into how VicLLENs can support young people in pursuing careers in aviation and beyond.
Building a Stronger Future
VicLLENs’ commitment to providing meaningful career pathways extends beyond the Avalon 2025. Since 2016, we have coordinated over 25,000 School to Work placements, currently collaborating with more than 6,500 employers across the state.
By facilitating industry connections and hands-on experiences, we are equipping young Victorians with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in today’s workforce.
“We are thrilled to be part of Avalon 2025, helping young people gain exposure to the aviation industry and the diverse career opportunities within it,” VicLLENs Chair Fiona Purcell said.
